Draft — pending solicitor review
This document is a working draft prepared in-house. It reflects how Parkntel actually handles your data today, but it has not yet been reviewed or approved by a qualified solicitor, and it may change before launch.
Version 2026-07-28 · Last updated 28 July 2026
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require your consent before a site stores anything on your device that isn't strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. Everything Parkntel stores is strictly necessary, so there is nothing here to consent to — which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. That is not an oversight; a banner asking permission for storage we are already allowed to use would be theatre.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording)
- No social media embeds that track you
- No cross-site tracking of any kind
If that ever changes we will ask for your consent first, through a real banner with a genuine reject option, and we will update this page before doing so.
What we do store
Most of this is browser local storage rather than cookies proper — the legal position is the same either way, so we list it all.
Sign-in tokens
Driver app · browser local storageKeeps you signed in between visits so you don't re-enter your password and OTP on every launch. Without it there is no session.
How long: Access token expires in minutes; the refresh token lasts until you sign out or it expires.
Admin sign-in tokens
Admin panel · browser local storageThe same thing for staff accounts. Not set for ordinary users.
How long: Same as above.
Remembered device token
Admin panel · browser local storageLets a staff member skip the second-factor step on a device they have already verified. Only stored if they tick the box.
How long: 30 days, then re-verification is required. Rotates on each use.
Passkey credential
Your device's secure hardwareFace ID / fingerprint sign-in. Only created if you turn the feature on.
How long: Until you remove the device from your account or delete it from your device.
App preferences
Driver app · browser local storageSmall interface choices — for example which sections you have collapsed — so the app looks the same next time.
How long: Until you clear your browser storage.
Clearing it
Signing out removes your sign-in tokens. Clearing your browser's site data for Parkntel removes everything on this page, and removing a passkey from your account (or your device's own passkey settings) removes that. Doing any of this signs you out — it does not delete your account or any data we hold on our servers, which is covered by the Privacy Policy.
