Draft — pending solicitor review

This document is a working draft prepared in-house. It reflects how Parkntel actually handles your data today, but it has not yet been reviewed or approved by a qualified solicitor, and it may change before launch.

Version 2026-07-28 · Last updated 28 July 2026

This policy forms part of our Terms of Use. It exists because Parkntel puts one driver in direct contact with another over something that has already annoyed them — a design that only works if the rules about how that contact happens are explicit.

Reporting honestly

You must not:

  • Report a vehicle that is not actually obstructing you
  • Report someone out of a dispute unrelated to parking
  • Submit a photo that has been edited, staged, or taken at a different time or place
  • Report the same incident repeatedly to pressure the other driver
  • Report a vehicle on behalf of someone else without their knowledge

A false report is not a harmless mistake: it causes a real person to be notified that they have blocked someone, and it sits in their account history. Deliberately false reports are the fastest route to permanent removal.

Messaging the other driver

Messages sent through Parkntel must not:

  • Threaten, intimidate, or abuse anyone
  • Contain slurs or harassment based on race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age
  • Demand money, or threaten damage, towing, clamping, or police action you have no authority to take
  • Continue after the other person has resolved the thread or asked you to stop

Disagreement is fine. Parkntel exists precisely so two people who disagree about a parking space can sort it out in text rather than on the pavement.

Other people's information

You must not:

  • Use anything Parkntel shows you to identify, locate, or contact another user outside the app — including searching a registration through a plate-lookup service
  • Publish another user's registration, photo, messages, or vehicle details anywhere else
  • Take a report or conversation to social media in a way that identifies the other driver

This is the rule we enforce most strictly. The whole premise of Parkntel is that you can resolve an obstruction without ending up knowing who the other person is, and a single user breaking that turns the platform into exactly the thing it was built to replace.

Your account

You must not:

  • Create an account using someone else's identity, or register a vehicle that isn't yours
  • Share your account, or create a second account after being suspended
  • Attempt to bypass identity or vehicle verification

The platform itself

You must not:

  • Scrape, automate, or bulk-extract data from Parkntel
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the service or its infrastructure
  • Interfere with other users' access to the service

Genuine security research is welcome and is not a breach of this policy — report what you find to hello@parkntel.com and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing. We will not pursue anyone who does that in good faith.

What happens if you break these rules

What we do depends on what happened and whether it has happened before. In rough order of severity, we may: remove the content, issue a warning, restrict your ability to report or message, suspend the account temporarily, or remove it permanently. Threats of violence, harassment campaigns, and identifying another user outside the app can lead to permanent removal on a first occurrence, with no warning.

Every enforcement action is recorded with the reason and the person who took it. We will tell you what we did and why, unless doing so would prejudice an investigation or we are legally prevented from telling you. Where the law has clearly been broken we may report it to the police, and we will comply with a valid legal request for information.

If you think we got it wrong

Reply to the message telling you about the action, or email hello@parkntel.com. A different person from the one who made the original decision will review it, and we aim to respond within 14 days. Enforcement decisions are made by people, not automatically — you always have the right to have one reconsidered by a human, and to have your account's data exported to you whatever the outcome.

Reporting someone else

If another user breaks these rules, report it in the app or email hello@parkntel.com. If you feel threatened or unsafe, contact the police first — Parkntel is a communication tool and is not a substitute for them.
